I understand now why there is hesitation to identify the terrorists as Muslims. Their supporter goes all the way to the top.
Israel is in a bad place until 2012. I just hope her enemies won't take advantage of the situation.
Also, I hope he does not push to build that mosque "trophy" at Ground Zero.
Everything changes because of this - even the Constitution that was influenced by Christianity. Not the change that many wanted, I'm sure.

US is Pro-life! (GOP must stay put. DNC should reconsider.)
Yesterday, I heard that the GOP was taling to the pro-choice crowd and that distressed me because, one cannot compromise on the right to life. I didn't know what made Michael Steele think that he needs to accommodate that crowd because, acc. to the Gallup poll, the majority of the US population is pro-life.
The conservative shift in Americans’ views on abortion that Gallup first recorded a year ago has carried over into 2010. Slightly more Americans call themselves “pro-life” than “pro-choice,” 47% vs. 45%, according to a May 3-6 Gallup poll. This is nearly identical to the 47% to 46% division found last July following a more strongly pro-life advantage of 51% to 42% last May.
While the two-percentage-point gap in current abortion views is not significant, it represents the third consecutive time Gallup has found more Americans taking the pro-life than pro-choice position on this measure since May 2009, suggesting a real change in public opinion. By contrast, in nearly all readings on this question since 1995, and each survey from 2003 to 2008, more Americans called themselves pro-choice than pro-life.

Perhaps the Democrats can use this to their advantage and kick out their pro-choice base in exchange for pro-lifers. It's something to think about considering the general values and attitudes of pro-lifers are akin to many of the Democrats alleged positions except for that one issue - abortion support.

Either Card. Chaput or O'Malley is Dead Wrong. (And Card. Mahoney ...)
On the issue of admitting a child from a same sex couple to Catholic school, one cardinal is definitely wrong. I can say that with certainty because Card. O'Malley and Chaput took mutually exclusive positions so, one of them must be right and the other wrong - by definition with everything else being the same.
Card. O'Malley allowed the child to enroll in a Catholic school in his archdiocese; Card. Chaput supported the decision to exclude a child under the same circumstance from his.
Acc. to Card. Chaput: "Many of our schools also accept students of other faiths and no faith, and from single parent and divorced parent families. These students are always welcome so long as their parents support the Catholic mission of the school and do not offer a serious counter-witness to that mission in their actions."
I really don't know what Card. O'Malley was thinking. I am with Card. Chaput on this one.

The implications of this is that cardinals and bishops are not always right. There is only one bishop with the charism of infallibility and that is when teaching matters of faith and morals under strictly specified conditions. So, Card. Roger Mahoney in his opposition to the Arizona legislation may well be wrong too.
